Robinson Community Appreciation Event – Pittsburgh
Upcoming Pittsburgh Event
“What’s happening in Pittsburgh this weekend?” – something we search almost every work week when the forecast finally shows sunshine. Now that back-to-school season is starting, your kids are going to be even more antsy to have something fun and exciting to do on the weekends. Stop by our upcoming event to reward them for their transition back into student-mode, and take the time to browse vendors, raffle baskets, and food trucks for yourself.
On September 8, 2018, from 1 – 5 pm, bring the whole family to Guardian Storage Robinson for our Community Appreciation Event! Admission and parking are free. Plus, 100% of donations collected from activities will support The Education Partnership and Animal Friends, two local Pittsburgh nonprofits. This event is our way of saying “thank you!” to everyone in our community for welcoming us and for showing their support of our business. One of our main missions is to give back to our local communities, and this is one little way we can show our gratitude.
What fun things can you expect at the event? There will be:
- A Firetruck with fire safety tips
- Face painting
- Balloon animals
- Kona Ice Truck
- Food Trucks
- Dessert Table
- Animal Friends petting area
- DJ
- Green screen photo booth
- 50/50 Raffle
- Basket Raffle
- Local Vendors (see below for a list)

The Education Partnership
60,000 local students in Allegheny County don’t have basic school supplies. The Education Partnership works to bridge the gap between what students have, and what they need to succeed in the classroom. They currently serve 45,000 students and 4,000 teachers at 110 local schools. Guardian Storage is proud to support The Education Partnership in a few different ways. During our Annual Shred-It Event, we collect supplies and monetary donations in exchange for our free shredding services. We also adopt two local schools each year: Pittsburgh Clayton Academy and Urban Academy of Greater Pittsburgh. Through the adopt-a-school program, we provide each student with Power Tool Homework Kits to ensure they have the supplies they need to succeed both in the classroom and at home. Animal Friends
Animal Friends is a premier companion animal community committed to promoting the animal-human bond and nurturing relationships with companion animals. Their mission is to:
- Reduce the number of unwanted animals through aggressive spay/neuter programs.
- Provide for the well-being of companion animals in need, while adhering to our no-kill tradition and find each a lifelong, loving home.
- Offer affordable wellness services and resources to pets and owners in need, targeting underserved communities, to support whole-life care.
- Promote the animal-human bond through outreach, education and therapeutic programming.
- Act as an advocate on behalf of animals in crisis and as an enforcer of their rights and protection through education, investigation and legislative efforts.
This organization has been in Pittsburgh since WWII, and we are excited to support them through our Community Appreciation Events.
