Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
We are so proud and excited to announce that we have been named a 2018 Top Workplace by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The Pittsburgh best places to work list is based on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous third-party survey. The surveys were administered through Energage LLC, a provider of technology-based employee-engagement tools. They measure several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection.
“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Energage CEO Doug Claffey. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”
We strive to provide a work environment in which our employees can feel proud and fulfilled. To us, that means taking care of people – our employees, our customers, our communities and our business associates. We know that every team member contributes to creating a positive workplace culture, so our team is made up of positive, kind, hardworking professionals who share our core values. They are truly what makes Guardian Storage a top workplace.
“When I started this company over 30 years ago, it was important to me to build a team that felt like family, and in turn made our customers feel like family,” said Steven Cohen, president and founder of Guardian Storage. “I’m honored to be surrounded by such a dedicated, professional team that loves coming to work every day. We are a close-knit group and this award speaks volumes about the culture at Guardian Storage. I’m humbled to be a part of a successful company driven by such an amazing group of individuals.”
Most of our employees are dedicated to their Guardian Storage properties, not centrally located, so we work extra hard to maintain our relationships and core values across the company. We hold annual team building events and holiday celebrations as well as quarterly team meetings. We also use a web-based employee engagement software that conducts anonymous employee surveys and collects feedback to measure employee satisfaction so that we can keep a pulse on morale in real time.
Another big part of solidifying that family feeling is our commitment to giving back to our communities. Collectively, we help support over 50 nonprofit organizations, including partnerships with The Education Partnership and A Precious Child – non-profit organizations that provide critical school supplies to teachers and students in low-income areas in Pittsburgh and Denver.
There are currently 22 Guardian Storage properties in Pittsburgh and the Denver area with two more locations on the way in 2019. We are always looking for more dedicated employees to add to our ever-growing team. If you are interested in a career with Guardian Storage, check out our careers page for available positions.
