What a year!

As 2018 comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past year. This year, we had the pleasure of opening new Guardian Storage properties in Forest Hills and Frederick, Colorado. We’ve also been very appreciative to receive quite a few awards and recognition in 2018. We feel very proud to be recognized for our service, company culture, and a property portfolio that we pride ourselves in. Thank you to everyone who helped us grow and succeed in 2018. We look forward to everything 2019 has in store!

2018 Top Workplace – Pittsburgh Post-Gazette 

This year, we had the honor of being named a 2018 Top Workplace by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The Pittsburgh best places to work list is based on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous third-party survey. These surveys measure several aspects of workplace culture including alignment, execution, and connection.

We strive to provide a work environment in which our employees can feel proud and fulfilled. To us, this means taking care of people – our employees, our customers, our communities, and our business associates. 2018 Pittsburgh Fan Favorite – Pittsburgh Post-Gazette 

We were so thrilled to have been listed as a 2018 Pittsburgh Fan Favorite by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette this year! Readers of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette voted for their favorite companies in several categories, and named Guardian Storage the best storage company in East Pittsburgh.

2018 Best of the Best Storage Facility – Washington Observer-Reporter 

We are very proud to announce that we have been voted the Best of the Best Storage Facility for the second year in a row by the Washington Observer-Reporter’s Official Community Choice Awards. This year, over 400,000 votes were cast for the best businesses and organizations in Washington and Greene counties and the South Hills. Readers of the Washington Observer-Reporter submitted nominations and ultimately voted Guardian Storage as the best of the best!

2018 Best Storage Company – South West Communities Chamber of Commerce

We pride ourselves in our involvement in the community, and are grateful to be members of the South West Communities Chamber of Commerce. This year, the chamber presented Guardian Storage with the award for Best Storage Company in the South Hills. We are so proud of our Bridgeville property for their accomplishment in winning this award!

#45 in Mini Storage Messenger’s Top 100 Operators List

This year, Guardian Storage moved from #52 (2017) to #45 in Mini Storage Messenger’s Top 100 Storage Operators List. This list compiled of storage operators that have set the industry’s standards for the storage business. Ranking is based on total net rentable square feet.

#47 in Inside Self-Storage’s Top 100 Operators List 

We are excited to be ranked #47 (from #49 in 2017) in Inside Self-Storage’s 100 Top Storage Operators List. The list is an annual compilation of the industry’s leading players. It is ranked by total square footage at all properties owned by the top operators of the self-storage industry.  

Fox Rothchild Outstanding CEOs and Top Executives Award – Pittsburgh Business Times 

This February, Steve Cohen, the President and Founder of Guardian Storage was selected as a recipient of the Fox Rothchild Outstanding CEOs and Top Executives Award. Winners were chosen based on four criteria: vital leadership and customer service philosophy, outstanding employee relationships, contributions to the community, and evidence that they have shaped their company’s products or services to help lead their business to success.

2018 marks Guardian Storage’s 31^st year in business, and much of our continued growth and success can be attributed to Steven’s leadership. To read more about this award and Steven’s dedication to Guardian Storage, check out our blog post.
